Caroline and Dave's wedding

Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26

Caroline and Dave decided to hold a secular wedding a children's summer camp. Odd? I don't think so. I liked symbolism: nature, harvest season, a culmination. The three day endeavor was a nice touch as well. It was good to meet some old friends, make some new friends, and just have fun.

Chris and Ben audition for the next Paul Rudd Movie.
All of the meals featured locally grown Western Massachusetts food. In between eating like kings and queens, the wedding guests were able to go swimming, canoing, play Frisbee, and just enjoy each other's company.

The begining of the procession.
When it came time for the big one--the actual declaration, the wedding officiant, Frank Critelli, slung his guitar over his shoulder and announced the plan. "We are going to walk around the campground," he said. "Letting people know that it is time. Finally, we will reach the cabin of Mr. Dave McMahon." The excitment was breathable. Paul Belbusti, friend of Dave and also an accomplished musician, joined Frank in leading the procession.

The crowd navigated the entire campground. Accidentally, Frank and Paul walked past Dave's cabin and towards ours. Nicole let Frank now that we had overshot Dave's cabin. Not to worry. The procession just continued onwards, doing a full loop around Dave's cabin.

Dave is seraneded just before his big moment.
Dave walked out smiling, wearing a white suite, tomato in hand. He was ready. We were ready.

We marched to the ceromony. Caorline and Dave each wrote their own vows, their words very touching. Words can do no more but fail to summarize the love and excitement that shared with that ceromony.

There was much toasting that night. Come morning, it was hard to say goodbye, but easy to wish the newlyweds well.  We said goodbye to Dave and Caroline and headed back home to Manchester in hopes that Nicole's tendon could recover within a few days time.

There they are Dave and Caroline. Celebrating not a begining but a continuation of the love they share.
